When Internet Marketing Really Works

logo

It’s probably the most widely adopted method of marketing in today’s world; what with technology soaring to great heights and reducing physical distances to nothing thanks to the virtual world, it makes sense to marketers to tap the Internet to spread the word about their products and services. It’s easy enough and cost-effective to set up a presence on the web, and all you have to do is get people to visit your website and learn more about your company and how you can satisfy their needs and wants. Now not many Internet marketing strategies work effectively, but there are some that beat the rest hands down. This is because:

* They combine both traditional and modern methods: It may be hard to believe, but there are still many people who are not tech savvy. The older generation is wary of computers and anything that has to do with technology while the technophobes are careful that they don’t spend too much time with their machines and gadgets. So if you want to target this crowd and get them to view your website and subscribe to your services, the best way is the traditional way. Put up your link in visible locations like television, newspapers and magazines; and besides sending out emails to those who have email addresses, use the postal service as well for those who don’t. When you combine traditional and modern methods of marketing, you gain the best of both worlds.

* They use the 80-20 principle: Internet marketers must know where to look for customers and try to entice them to their page. The chance of the customer wandering onto your site by accident is very minimal, so you must be willing to do the hard work. If you follow the 80-20 principle however, you reduce your effort and find new customers in less time. The key to this principle is to know that 80 percent of your potential customers visit 20 percent of the sites on the Internet. So tap popular hangouts like Facebook, Twitter and Google where everyone you know has an account. These networks also offer viral marketing advantages where one person’s visit to your page is shown to others who are connected to them, thus taking your marketing one step further to the next level without any additional effort on your part.

* They keep up with the times: And most important of all, successful Internet marketers know when to change their methods and tactics if they are to keep up with the times. They are never stagnant by sticking to tried and true methods. Rather, they explore every avenue and leave no opportunity alone. They know that the web is a rapidly evolving organization, and that if you don’t keep up, you’re bound to get left out.

Reapplying for Google Adsense

logo

I wish I can talk to a Google Adsense Representative… lol

I have to close my old Adsense account because I have to change my country. =|

I was in Fiji for the past 2 years and a half and now that I’m back here in the Philippines, I thought I could maximize my Adsense earning because I’m creating more sites and blogs now. But I’ve been rejected twice since I reapplied. It’s depressing… lol. Because my Google Affiliate Network account (Google’s CPA Network, Connect Commerce) has also been deactivated. :(

This blog theme of mine got Google Adsense spaces but now it’s all blank because my Google ID was deactivated. Sigh

Please, Google Adsense, accept me again! lol.. Hehe.

So anyway, I’ll try my luck. If not, maybe I should try other networks. Err, but I only want Google! :(

Anyways, guys. My Local Web Marketing Now site has been revamped! :) It’s for local internet marketing in the Philippines. It’s something like an offline consulting kind of thingy…

Make More Money in 2 Months than others do Year-round with your own Christmas Light Installation Business

logo

In my experience, I would say that most Holiday lighting companies are small (2-4 employees) and only have the ability to handle a limited amount of customers each year.

Once some installation companies establish core clients after their first year, many of them don’t even market. Their business comes from previous jobs or referrals from current clients, which usually is made up of neighbors, family and friends.

Each holiday season, you will find that more calls come in than can ever be fulfilled. I have found this to be a very common complaint from Christmas lighting installers: too much business! I can’t think of any other industry that has a problem turning down customers!

During the first week of December, things get really busy any calls start pouring in. I have found myself telling people that I can’t leave my house for less than a minimum of $400. Lighting services are in such demand that people are really willing to pay an arm and a leg to have it done.

Growth is the goal and most important aspect to your new business. Be careful though because you don’t want it to grow so quickly that you find yourself overwhelmed. This will only lead to a series of problems that will have a negative impact on your business. Don’t bite off more than you can chew. Only make commitments that you can keep. Never say you will do something and not follow through. Your reputation is your most valuable asset and you should protect it at all costs.

Take this business one job at a time and don’t be afraid to tell a client that you are booked.

Things tend to get very busy and there is only so much you will be able to handle on your own. It may be hard at first to turn down jobs, but be aware that there is always next year.
Keep a database of names, numbers, and email addresses. Even if you don’t get to them this year, you will be able to contact them earlier in the season next year to ensure that they become a client.

Make sure that you take down as many details as possible about your clients and contacts. Names, phone numbers, addresses, email addresses, how they found you, job description, and price quote are all important to have in a database. The more organized you keep your business, the more efficient you become and the more profits you make.
You should have a good handle on your strengths and weaknesses as a worker and a business owner. If you don’t, you will soon learn them.

Owning a business will teach you a lot about yourself. By knowing your skills and what you bring to the table, you will be able to take advantage of many opportunities that will make your business as efficient as possible.

Bill Tincu makes $50,000 every holiday season by simply running his own Christmas Light Installation Business. For more information on starting a holiday lighting business, visit: Christmas-Kings.com

4 Valuable Ways to Save Money

logo

Many people earn wages just enough to supply their basic necessities. But if you truly want to be financially secured, you have to acquire more money than what you’re spending – money that you can invest in a business or in other ventures that can propel you to financial freedom. To be able to do this, you have to start saving early in life.

Here are some pointers regarding saving money:

1. Set a minimum amount to be saved. Savings are not meant to cover bill payments should one fall short of cash. They are intended for financial security. A little savings, in time, will become big; and it can be used as investment capital to earn more. Question: “Where will I get the cash I need should I fall short of it?” The answer: “Find other means of earning extra income, say a weekend part-time job. Any excess cash from one’s part-time job can be added to your savings.

2. Shop only for items needed, not for products that you wanted to buy on impulse. Think first before you purchase. Don’t fall prey to bargains not needed. It is not suggested that one should starve or be in a pitiful state. As a matter of fact, one can reward himself/herself once in a while for accomplishments made.

3. Review one’s lifestyle. Change or scale down habits that seem to be not-so-wise spending. For instance, frequent eating in restaurants which is more expensive than homemade cooking can be lessened. Taking the bus or train when possible, instead of driving one’s own car, can save on gas and parking fees. If one have to drive his/her car, try car pooling with officemates or neighbors; thereby sharing on expenses.

4. Check your regular monthly bills on utilities like electricity, gas, water, telephone and ask oneself: “Where can I save?”

It may take a while to get adjusted to a lifestyle in the “savings” mode, even to the point of “little sacrifices.” Adapt a gradual, progressive change to save to lessen the impact of adjustment from the lifestyle one used to be accustomed to.

There are more ways of starting the path to a financially secured life by making use of one’s creativity.

Remember, little things mean a lot.

3 Types Of Income

logo

Let us take a look at the different types of income. They are:

1. Earned Income – obtained from working for someone or a company.
2. Passive Income – income generated from business.
3. Portfolio Income – income generated from investments in paper assets.

Earned Income comes from having a job in a company or in someone else’s business. You get paid for your time and services rendered. In the previous section, we mentioned that workers work just hard enough not to get fired and employers pay just enough for workers not to quit.

This indicates that the income an employee can generate from working for an employer is limited. There is the possibility that an employee may devote extra effort thinking the employer will pay him/her more. It is a rare possibility particularly when business is difficult, but possible.

And even if it happens, it is still limited. Whatever additional profit gained by the employer as a result of the employee’s extra effort, the employer will get the bigger “slice of the pie.” You are, in effect, making someone else rich through your added effort. Don’t think I’m discouraging this. It is a good act.

I’m just stating a fact. It’s likely that you will be telling yourself mentally: “Hey, that’s not fair.” Fair or not, that’s the way life is, when you work for money.

If you are an employee, you get your money or paycheck after everything else. It is earned income, less taxes and everything else deductible, before money reaches your hand. And if ever the money reaches your hand, the next place it is bound to go is to pay your bills. If the amount is not enough, you are bound to borrow, which makes you debt-ridden if it accumulates. Now, this is one big mistake. Don’t ever get debt-ridden. It is the quicksand to poverty.

Earned Income is a safe way to generate an income. There is not much thinking to do. Except for a few high paying, high profile jobs, your work is mostly concentrated on a few things where you keep repeating the same functions. Unconsciously, this discourages creativity, so boredom starts to set in.

It is because of this boredom that getting to work every morning is such a drag and you keep on looking forward to weekends, holidays, and vacations.

Unless you really love what you do without consideration to the income it generates, or unless you are highly paid, or unless there is a lot more to learn in your job, or unless financial security is of no importance to you, there is no reason for you to stay long in the “rat race.”

The earlier it is to get out of the trap, the better chances you will attain financial success.

Passive Income is generated from businesses. You can sell products or offer services, or a combination thereof. Examples are buying/selling real estate, trading merchandise as in wholesaling and retailing, etc. In many cases, you need not be physically present in your place of business.

There are also small businesses like vending machines where you hardly require an employee to visit those machines for refill (since you can do it yourself). You can also go with franchising; either be a franchiser or a franchisee. The list is endless as long as you do what you love to do.

The beauty of going into your own business is that you work for you, not for someone else. You enrich yourself, not someone else. Your time is disciplined but more flexible because you can make your own schedule.

Another advantage of going into business, especially in your own corporation, is that you earn and spend before tax is deducted, unlike being an employee where you are taxed before you spend.

Portfolio Income, just like passive income, is making money work for you. Portfolio Income is generated from paper assets like bonds, stock market, certificate of deposits, and mutual funds. They are called paper assets because literally, they are businesses that revolve on papers.

It is in portfolio income where financial knowledge is of vital importance. Your intellect interacting with creativity can either unmake or make you rich.
